UNDERSTANDING SAMPLING

Abstract

Education Research  is like a black box, So many inputs, such as identification of problem, identification of population, review of literature, interpretation strategy and other tasks are earnestly fed to interpretation and analyses the functioning of the system of education and it is hoped that what comes out will be positive student learning outcomes. For the smooth functioning of this system there are many research projects organized to trace the impact and barriers of particular practice. For all such analysis and interpretation an appropriate research technique is required, In most of the research work, one does not know the  population or even when it is known it would be too expensive to study the entire population. So use of sampling is essential and success of all the research is based on a good sampling, as it helps the researcher to bring the population to a manageable number, meet up with the challenge of time, to reduce cost of research and minimizing error from the despondence due to large number in the population, and helps in making an inference the entire population. So sampling is considered as the building block of all the research and analyzing process which was done to enhance the system of education. This paper is an effort to develop a vision about importance and value of sampling in a research.
