ROLE OF NGO'S IN ADVOCACY OF HUMAN RIGHTS

This paper presents the work of NGOs in the area of human rights, as it has been manifested over the past 50 years, that is, since the end of the Second World War and the creation of the United Nations. Moreover, since there have been dramatic changes in the environment in which NGOs function over this period – changes which have had a serious impact on what NGOs can do and how they do it - particular attention will be paid to elucidating the role of NGOs in the late 1990s.
